Timebomb Duels 3-Second Trick

What the 3-Second Trick Is

The 3-second trick (also called 3-second pass) is an offensive timing technique. When the bomb timer reaches about 3 seconds, you intentionally receive or hold the bomb, then pass it back to your opponent at roughly 1 second remaining. They lack time to offload before explosion.

This is S-tier on our technique tier list because it creates sub-one-second reaction windows — even skilled players panic under that pressure.

Execution Steps

Watch the on-screen bomb timer constantly when duels intensify. At ~3 seconds, position for a tag on your target — preferably someone near a wall or chokepoint. Commit to the pass at ~1 second. Do not pass too early or they recover; too late you explode.

As defender, recognize when opponent baits you into receiving at 3 seconds — create distance before accepting a tag if possible.

Pairing with Map Geometry

Corner passing on tight maps amplifies the trick — blind angles hide pass setup. Open arenas require tighter chase positioning before attempting 3-second passes.

Drill

In First to Five, deliberately practice one round focusing only on timer reads. Ignore fancy movement — just pass timing. Build muscle memory for audio and UI timer cues.
